On September 24, 1994, in a small town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a baby boy was brought into this world. That baby boy’s name was Jon Souders. Jon grew up with a love for the outdoors, family, lacrosse, and most importantly: women. Throughout Jon’s life he spent his time hanging out with his friends and occasionally going out on a date with what he hoped to be “the one.” With no such luck, Jon went on to attend Saint Vincent College with a major in marketing and a minor in communication and play for the lacrosse team. Now, it’s his junior year and while his college career has been successful, all he needs is a girl to share his experience with. That being said, I went straight to the source to ask Jon a few questions.
Her Campus (HC): What do you look for in a girl?
Jon Souders (JS): “Someone with a very friendly persona, who has a great sense of humor, shares similar interests with myself, and it always helps to have pretty eyes and a warm smile.”
HC: What is your favorite dating memory?
JS: “It was 4th of July and I took my then girlfriend to a gourmet restaurant in downtown Lancaster. We sat outside at a candle lit table next to a water fixture illuminated by lights. Afterwards, we walked around downtown until we sat on a park bench and watched the unblemished skyline enlightened by such a pure display of fireworks.”
HC: Describe your ideal date.
JS: “My ideal date would be taking a girl to a professional hockey game, drinking a few beers, and embellishing in our passion for the same sports team. In other words, just enjoying being in the presence of each other in any circumstance is ideal for me.”
HC: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
JS: “In 5 years I plan on being firmly established in my marketing career in a bigger city, preferably New York City, but I am certainly not opposed to adopting a southern gentleman’s lifestyle in one of the Carolinas. At this point in my life, hopefully, I have settled down and started thinking about a family.”
HC: What is your favorite restaurant?
JS: “I am an enthusiast of Italian cuisine and atmosphere; therefore my favorite restaurant to go to would be Maggiano’s.”
HC: What do you want other girls to know about you?
JS: “If there was one thing I would want other girls to know about me is that I am very family oriented. My family means everything to me and they will always be a huge part of my life. Along with that, I caution you to be wary of my sisters. They approval means a great deal to me.”
HC: Why should girls on this campus be interested in you?
JS: “I hope that girls on this campus would like me because I exemplify the 3 r’s: respectful, reliable, and romantic.”
HC: What makes you a catch?
JS: “I consider myself a catch because I am always a gentleman. Chivalry is not dead ladies, and every girl deserves someone that will treat her like a queen. I also possess some skills that might distinct me from my fellow male peers. One is the ability to cook a full three-course meal, and I’m talking about real food ladies.”
