Her Campus (HC): What made you come to Saint Vincent College?
Olivia Cerniglia (OC): “Until it was time to make a decision on where to attend college, I had always envisioned myself going to a larger school like Pitt or Penn State.  I am a “city-girl” at heart, but I knew that I could focus on my studies more at a smaller school with smaller class sizes.  Saint Vincent College is far enough away, but close enough to home for me. From the moment I first visited during the fall of my senior year, I simply knew. I felt that I was in the right place and looked forward to its wonderful community.”
HC: What activities are you involved with on campus?
OC: “I am a member of Benedictine Leadership Studies, Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society, and Women in Business. I work as an Admissions Ambassador through the Office of Admissions helping to give tours to prospective high school students that are interested in Saint Vincent. In addition to contributing to Her Campus, I am involved with the MAD COMM Club (for Media, Advertising, Communication).”
HC: I see you are a part of MAD COMM… What is your position and what do you do with it?
OC: “I am the Promotions & Events Director. I control our social media accounts over Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to post about upcoming meetings, events, or projects. With my fellow officers, I aid in planning how the calendar of events for the semester will go. I’ll book events, reserve rooms, and order food for our events. Being that I am organized and definitely a ‘planner’ by nature, this job has been a great fit.”
HC: Where is one place you wish to travel to?
OC: “Australia.”
HC: Do you have any plans for this summer?
OC: “I plan to work, take summer classes, and take a trip with family and friends.”
HC: Are you currently watching a show on Netflix? What is it?
OC: “Yes! I am watching The Office right now.”
HC: Who is your celebrity crush?
OC: “Justin Timberlake… even during his NSYNC days!”
HC: What is your favorite moment at SVC so far?
OC: “It’s difficult to narrow it down to just one moment, because this year has been full of so many memories. This campus is beautiful through all four seasons, but my favorite thing to do during the fall was to take a walk with my friends and explore the campus.”
HC: What is your favorite food?
OC: “I joke with my friends that I belong in Maryland because crab is my absolute favorite. “
HC: What is your biggest turn off?
OC: “My biggest turn off would be insecurity. Insecurity can manifest itself in many ways, from control issues to cockiness. I try to avoid it at all costs. I like confidence, but not too much of it.”
HC: What is your ideal date?
OC: “Hmm… my ideal date would be walking around downtown Pittsburgh or strolling through the streets of Shadyside and trying somewhere new to eat.”
HC: Describe yourself in 3 words.
OC: “Honest. Ambitious. Versatile.”
HC: What are you most excited about next school year?
OC: “I am most excited about my schedule because they are mostly writing-designated courses, and I look forward to expressing my creativity.”
HC: What made you join Her Campus St. Vincent?
OC: “It is new to St. Vincent this year, and I was eager to be involved and write articles that other students on campus could relate to.”
