No, it’s not Christmas (yet) but fall! What could be better than crisp, cool air, fallen leaves and pumpkin spice lattes? Plus, being able to dress like a Spice Girl and feast on turkey and apple pie, all in one season—talk about too good to be true! We’ve compiled a list of 15 reasons why fall is our favorite:
- Rain. It may not be fun to bike in, but there’s something comforting about the soft patter of precipitation on your window and the fresh, invigorating smell.
- The amazing contrast of a hot shower on a cold day.
- Carving pumpkins—don’t forget to save the seeds for roasting!
- Halloween (duh).
- Getting up to run at the crack of dawn. Okay, this may seem absurd, but the sights, sounds and smells at that hour are totally worth it. Plus, you’ll feel accomplished for the rest of the day… even if all you do after is munch on candy corn and watch “Friends” re-runs.
- Curling up with a hot cocoa and a good book.
- Football season, ‘nuff said.
- Snuggling. Remember that cold day/hot shower contrast we were talking about earlier? Follow that up with some cute (read: Victoria’s Secret Pink collection) sweats and an even cuter guy for some serious cuddling. Currently flyin’ solo? Grab your best guy friend! We doubt he’ll mind…
- Boots, bags, scarves and sweaters. There’s a reason Fashion Week was in September.
- Shamelessly addictive T.V. “90210,” “Glee,” “Gossip Girl,” “Dancing With the Stars,” “Modern Family,” “The Office,”… the list goes on! Not to mention the captivating new faves like “Pan Am,” “Revenge,” and “New Girl.” Thank God for Hulu!
- Pumpkin flavored… everything! Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin soup (it’s good we swear), pumpkin cream cheese muffins, pumpkin scones, pumpkin pie—Starbucks run, anyone?
- The smells. Cinnamon and spice, apple cider, crisp air, asphalt after rain and wood smoke. Mmm.
- Bailey’s Caramel Appletinis (1 ounce Baileys Caramel Irish Cream, 1/2 ounce Smirnoff Green Apple Flavored Vodka, 1 apple slice, 1 teaspoon caramel)—delish!
- The reds, yellows and oranges of falling leaves.
- Turkey Day!! The one day a year we’re actually encouraged to stuff our faces. Food coma? Yessss.
