It seems like time is flying by! Just last week we were worrying about Add/Drop period ending and now we’ve reached the fantastic time of the year called midterm season. *shivers* Midterms are a stressful time for all of us so here’s a few study tips so you don’t lose your cool during the exams.

1. Study Guide.
If your professor isn’t providing a study guide, make your own! A study guide is something that definitely makes midterms less stressful. You have all of the information you need to know in one place and you can test your own knowledge.
2. Be Comfortable.
But not too comfortable. Sometimes studying in your apartment isn’t the best way to do things because you’re used to hanging out there. You’ve got to change your location if you want to get things done. Find somewhere quiet and comfortable where you can be successful.

3. Find a Study Buddy/Group.
Sometimes the best advice and information comes from other people in our class. If you know your midterm is going to be a nightmare, find a study buddy or even form a study group to get the information. It’s a great way to get to know your classmates, too.

4. Take Breaks.
This is so important! We are so wrapped up in our refusal to fail that we study until our brains are fried! Remember to take breaks so that you can let the information sink into your brain and you get a little rest.

5. Visit Your Professor.
They are useful for information because they are the ones teaching the course. While they probably won’t give you all of the information that you need, they will help you come up with an answer or steer you in the right direction.
6. Get enough Sleep.
It’s everyone’s worst nightmare: You are up all night studying for a really important exam and then you sleep right through it because you’re so tired. This could have been avoided had you gotten enough sleep the night before. It’s important that you’re awake and alert when going up against midterms!
