Meet sophomore Dolma Sherpa, a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major from Wharton, New Jersey!
Dolma has become a dedicated writer for our Her Campus Stockton team after she joined just last semester. She’s also a member of Pre-Health Professions Club, Pep Band, and T.A.L.O.N.S.
Last August, Dolma became a TALONS (The Activity Leaders of New Students) and she attended SOAR with the incoming freshman. SOAR is an outdoor adventure retreat that takes place a few days before the start of Welcome Week. The retreat helps freshman not only develop teamwork and leadership skills but also start the school year with a whole community of new friends.
When Dolma was a freshman she met a TALONS, Cherie, that inspired her to get involved with the club. “Cherie was such a great leader! She helped me go to all the events and made me want to get involved at Stockton!” Dolma is very thankful for being able to be a part of such an amazing experience. While the program doesn’t last very long, she was still was able to learn significant lessons: “I learned how to talk more in front of a group! I was never really good when it came to public speaking so this was an awesome chance to learn how to.”
When Dolma isn’t busy being involved on campus, she likes to find new shows to binge watch on Netflix. When asked which TV character she related to most she said: “Definitely Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation. She’s so determined to do whatever it takes to make others happy and to do the right thing and, like me, she has some of the most color-coordinated organization skills around.” Dolma hopes her Knope-like determination will lead her to one day become a Pediatric Neurologist!
If you have any questions about joining TALONS, or even which shows are the most binge-worthy, don’t hesitate to ask Dolma!
