My favorite time of the year – Thanksgiving to Christmas – is always super hectic with gifts, decorations, and family gatherings, but one of my favorite ways to decompress and make something delicious is baking! I love to bake everything, from cookies to chocolate pretzels to ice cream cakes to fruit tarts. One recipe that I make every year, especially around the holidays, is my apple crisp recipe. You can also use it for any fruit you want, but I’ll focus on apples in this one
Ingredients:
- 4 to 6 medium, peeled, cored, and sliced tart apples
- 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/3 cup softened butter
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 375.
- Butter the square baking pan you will use.
- Mix a little extra cinnamon and the sliced apples together in a big bowl.
- Mix the rest of the ingredients together in another bowl (you can use your clean hands!) until it’s crumbly.
- Pour the apples into the pan.
- Sprinkle the mixture over the apples.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
Enjoy! ;)
