Winter is coming. Or, maybe, it’s already here. My skin sure as hell thinks that it is. While winter can bring lots of joy and beauty, it can also cause your skin to go a little bit crazy.

Even though everyone’s skin is different, my skin, and most people’s skin, tends to get drier. Dry patches are never fun. They can lead to discomfort and cause breakouts. The moment that I feel the weather getting colder I reach for these four products to keep my skin happy, healthy, and beautiful.

Argan Oil

I absolutely LOVE Josie Maran 100 Percent Pure Argan Oil. I have been using it on and off for a few years and every time that I run out, I find a reason to repurchase it. Rather than changing all of my current skin care products to more dry-skin-friendly products, I just incorporate argan oil. This way, the only change that I need to make to my skin care routine is adding in an extra step. In the mornings, I simply mix in one drop with my moisturizer and in the evenings I apply three to five drops directly to my face and then follow with my moisturizer. The argan oil is incredibly hydrating and leaves my skin looking very fresh and healthy. Best of all, it can be used everywhere. I use it on my eyes in conjunction with an eye cream, on my lips as a quick lip moisturizer, and on any part of my body that is feeling especially dry. Argan oil can do it all.

Tinted Moisturizer

Although I use tinted moisturizer all year long, I use it a lot more often during the winter. This way, I can keep my skin hydrated all day, even with a face full of makeup. While most tinted moisturizers and bb creams can do this, my favorite is the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. Its brightening effect also helps to hide the dullness of my winter skin.

Highlighter

Some people say that highlighter should only be used in summer, when glowing skin is on trend. I STRONGLY disagree with these people. I love highlighter and, nine times out of ten, if I’m wearing makeup, I’m wearing a highlighter. The reason that I included it in this list is because, as I mentioned earlier, winter can make skin look dull. Highlighter adds brightness and glow back into the skin.

Lip Mask

The cold weather can be especially brutal on the lips. While I like to carry around a lip balm all day to rehydrate them every once in awhile, lip balm alone isn’t always enough. At night I choose to use a lip mask for increased hydration. My favorite, and the one that I’m currently using, is the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask.
