Emma Watson has such a strong following in Britain that I am sure many of you will already know a lot about her background and success but here I go anyway…
Watson was born in Paris and lived there until the age of five. She is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, who separated when she was young. Following her parents divorce, Emma moved back to her mother’s native country, England. After eight auditions, Emma Watson was successfully cast for the roles of the Hermione Granger, from the Harry Potter book series. As we all know Emma went on to star in the eight adaptations, becoming one of the best-known faces in the world! Her other movie accolades include the incredible (in my humble opinion) The Perks of Being a Wallflower and the Bling Ring (the less said about the latter the better!) and you will be able to see Emma Watson in the thriller âRegressionâ next year.
Asides from acting Emma Watson has also fronted the 2009 Burberry campaign. I think it is safe to say she is perfect to represent the iconic British brand, as she is the epitome of an English rose.
LUSTING! Could anyone look better in the legendary trench coat!? No.
Not one for letting her stardom stop her from achieving her academic goals. In May 2014 Emma also managed to graduate from Brown University with a Bachelors degree in English Literature.
What really resonates with myself and makes Emma Watson a truly inspiring and empowering figure if her recent work with the UN. Emma has taken on headfirst the problem of gender inequality head on. In her recent UN speech she pressed for the issue of gender inequality to be made a priority across the world. Being a self confessed feminist since the age of 8 shown through in her speech and her love and determination for universal gender equality in overwhelmingly inspiring.Â

What a beautiful and inspiring speech. I think all of us should take the message âIf not me, who? If not now, when?â and make it our mantra!
