St. Thomas University is putting on their annual Relay For Life event on campus. Fundraisers will be relaying on Saturday in James Dunn Hall, starting at 10:00 pm. Participants will be pulling an all-nighter, with the event finishing up at 7:00 am.
Relay For Life is to raise funds, as well as awareness for cancer research. It also celebrates those whose lives have been touched by cancer. In 2013, the Canada-wide event raised $46.5 million with the 16, 224 teams that participated coast to coast.
This year, Her Campus St. Thomas is taking part. Our team, The Campus Cuties, is made up of four Campus Contributors: Kelly Victoria, Alicia Hovey, Dijonna Brooks and Kali Schroeder. Her Campus STU Editor-in-Chief, Emma Chapple, will serve as team captain.
This is the first time the Her Campus St. Thomas is participating in a campus-wide event since their launch in January.
To our Campus Contributors and all of the participants of Relay for Life, good luck and have a blast!
If you don’t have a team, but have some time and still want to participate in this event, you are welcome at any time to join in the activities during these ten hours.
No team and no time? No problem! You can still be your own Campus Celebrity and donate to this initiative at relayforlife.ca.
