What were your previous internship experiences? Prior to working at Her Campus I worked with Rosie’s Place a non-profit which caters to underprivileged women and children. I interned within the development office working on various projects. It was overall an amazing, eye-opening experience. I learned a lot about working within a non-profit and all that happens behind the scenes of planning a large event. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend The Safe and Sound Gala which is put on by Rosie’s Place every year. It was really cool to see all of the hard work come together to result in such a successful event! I also was given the opportunity during my senior year of high school to shadow at Elevate Communications. I worked within the office for a total of 25 hours researching clients and writing press releases. This experience helped me to realize that public relations was for sure the career path I wanted to pursue.
How did you get involved with HC HQ? I have been a member of the Suffolk Her Campus chapter for 3 years now. When scrolling the site one day I came across the internship opportunities available. I originally applied for the position of social media coordinator, however, have found myself working as the marketing coordinator.

What are you involved in on campus?I was a member of the women’s tennis team last year, unfortunately due to my schedule I couldn’t partake in this season. I am also a member of the Her Campus Suffolk Chapter.
What do you hope to do post internship? Post internship I will be officially in my last semester of my undergraduate career. I plan to have one more internship under my belt prior to graduation. Seeing as I have experience within non-profits as well as all things Her Campus I would love to gain knowledge working within a larger firm, or potentially working within the development office of a Boston sports team. I still have yet to pinpoint what exactly I see myself doing post-graduation, so I am hoping that all of my internship experiences will help me in deciding which path of public relations I would like to go down.
