This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Suffolk chapter.

Best Suffolk experience?

ELI: Meeting a lot of new people this year and making a bunch of cool friends.  I also liked joining the Suffolk Fraternity: Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

MARCO: I don’t really have a best Boston experience, but the best nights that I have had so far are always at or after the clubs. Clubbing in Boston is very different from clubbing in Mexico, and I like it because it is very international.

MAX: My best Suffolk experience has to be hanging out with my roommates.   I honestly think I have the best roommates in any college in the United States.

ROB: Just being able to live in Boston is a great experience.  It is completely different than the area I grew up, but I love it.

TOD: Meeting my roommates. We come from different places and we became really close friends in such a short amount of time.

Dream career/location?

ELI: To be working as a successful businessman on Wall Street in my own personal office (with a great view)!

MARCO: To either take over my dads business or to open my own sports stores across Mexico.  Like most people, I want to become my own boss and the person in charge of running their own business.

MAX: To become a talent agent.   One day I will become the best talent agent Hollywood has ever seen. Hopefully one day you guys can say ” OMG! I went to school with Max Iglesias!” That’s my dream.

ROB: Ever since I started playing guitar I wanted to be a famous musician. I would love to live in California. It’s always sunny, there’s a lot of great music and entertainment and the car scene there is huge.

TOD: Anything really.  As long as I’m making a living and love what I do then it would be like living a dream.

Likes in a girl?

ELI: I like a girl with a good sense of humor: someone I can joke around with without worrying about offending her.  A girl who keeps herself busy and who likes to keep herself in shape (goes to the gym or does a sport).  I love a girl with nice eyes – blue or green; they get my attention right away! My dream girl would be someone that I like spending time with, who likes the same music that I do (Lil Wayne preferably), and who isn’t afraid to speak her mind and tell me what she’s thinking.  Just be yourself around me.

MARCO: Honesty is a key quality that I look for in a girl because I have learned through experiences that honesty is the only thing that keeps people together. My dream girl would have to be a down to earth/good-looking girl with a spontaneous personality.  She would have to be able to keep a good conversation flowing at all times or else I couldn’t be able to be around her. I love it when a girl is smart and dedicated to herself because it helps me stay on track with what I should be doing as well.

MAX: First and most importantly, I look at her personality.  For me, the girl needs to have a sense of humor.  I also look at what the girl is wearing.   Style is very important to me because I believe it represents the way that person likes to be seen from everyone.   If a girl is not dressed properly, then there is no way she can be my girlfriend.

ROB: I look at personality, honesty, humor, cleanliness, attractiveness, fun to be around, and intelligence.  I already found my dream girl.  She is gorgeous!  She has dark brown hair, big brown eyes, a beautiful smile, a contagious laugh, and an amazing personality.  She is extremely fun to be around and is also a very honest and kind person.  She is one in a million!

TOD: A girl that is honest, mature, caring, and understanding…A girl who looks like Adrianna Lima that has qualities I listed above would make me happy man.

Definite Turnoffs?

ELI: I don’t like girls who smoke cigarettes.  That is a major turnoff for me.   I hate girls who play games (when girls act like they like you and flirt a lot just to tantalize you).  If you like me, then tell me!

MARCO: The biggest turn off for me is when a girl smells like cigarettes. Not that I dislike smoking but something about the smell in girls really bothers me. I also hate it when girls are loud and obnoxious (especially when intoxicated); it drives me insane!

MAX: If she does not know how to eat.  I took this girl I thought I liked to a restaurant, thinking it was going to be the best date ever, but little did I know, she was going to eat like a pig.  I never called her again.  Another quality that turns me off about a girl is if she is rude.  I try to avoid rude girls at all times.

ROB: I don’t like girls that are slutty, fake, sloppy or try too hard.

TOD: I think most guys would agree with me on this one, but I hate when girls are fake.

[pagebreak]Boston girls vs. girls back home?

ELI: I like how Lebanese girls are extremely outgoing and loud.  They all dress to impress, wear makeup, high heels, and high fashioned clothes.  Some Boston girls don’t really dress up that much.  In addition, most Boston girls are extremely down to earth, while most Lebanese girls always care about what people think about them.

MARCO: It is hard for me pick and choose because I love both Mexican and Boston girls for their unique differences. Girls from back home tend to be more conservative and traditional which is something I like because they are more reliable and laid back. On the other hand, I feel like the Boston girls that I have met here are more spontaneous and outgoing. I really don’t have a preference (or at least not yet) but I have to admit that I am very picky when it comes to girls.

MAX: Miami girls, I believe, are superficial. Miami girls tend to look for guys who havemoney and a high social status. Boston girls are more relaxed and calm.  From what Ihave seen here in Boston, Boston girls tend not to look at the money or social status, but more at the guy’s personality. If I had to choose between a Miami or Boston girl, it would definitely be a Boston girl.  I feel like a Boston girl is more likely to be the girl who can make me smile.

ROB: …I like my girl the best.

TOD: I would have to say I am in favor Boston girls because they’re generally outgoing, and always down to have fun. This doesn’t mean that I don’t like Thai girls…they’re awesome too but just too shy, which makes it harder for the guys unfortunately. Both have their pros and cons.

What would you do if you won $50,000 in cash?

ELI: I would definitely buy a new car, something sporty perhaps.  Any leftover money, I would use to buy a bunch of snacks.

MARCO: If someone handed me $50,000 cash, I would save most of the money to eventually invest it in a business or important expense that will be useful in a near future.

MAX: I would give $25,000 to charity to kids who are in need for an education.  The other $25,000 I would give to my mom so she can buy whatever she wants.  I am kind of a Mama’s Boy and will do anything for her.

ROB: I’d probably put a little money towards my car and then put the rest of the money in my bank account for when I’m out of college (aka real life).

TOD: I’d donate 50% of it to various charities in Thailand because $25,000 in Thai money is a significant amount, and would accomplish more back at home.  Then I’d save half of the rest, and the other portion I’d probably end up spending some of it.

What do you love about where you grew up?

ELI: The best weather…it never rains!  There is beautiful everything: buildings, women, and beaches.  Everyone down there is so down to earth…not like here where everyone’s pissed off.  You wake up, go to the beach, and then at night go to the clubs.  Who wouldn’t love that?

MARCO: I could not have asked for a more amazing place to be raised in besides Puerto Vallarta. Located in one huge bay, the beach was never too far from me. Zip-lining, wakeboarding, and surfing were regular activities. Since the city is such a touristy area, the nightlife was amazing and the clubs were always the place to go.

MAX: I met some of the greatest people in Miami who I consider to be some of my best friends.  I loved being raised in a place where the sun is always out and where everyone is always hanging out at the beach.

ROB: I love the friends that I grew up with and I really love the area.

TOD: I love everything about it. It’s hard to describe why unless you come here and see for yourself. The Nightlife scene is intense here and the food is amazing. Living here is so comfortable and everything is convenient. It’s not entirely like how the Hangover 2 depicted it but its true what they say. “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. But what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined.”

Hobbies?

ELI: I do boxing and enjoy it a lot it.  Keeping myself in shape is very important to me (going to the gym during my free time).  Listening to music and just hanging around with friends are also hobbies of mine.

MARCO: Going to the gym and playing basketball. I am a huge NBA fan and my whole family loves the game so basketball was always something I grew up with. Back at home I used to play with two division one teams so my schedule always revolved around my games and practices.

MAX: Hanging out with my friends, buying clothes, playing basketball, and going to the beach.  I also really enjoy music.  My favorite artists right now are Big Sean and Curren$y.  I also really like house music.

ROB: I love spending time with my family and I am lucky that they are all in the same state.  I see most of them frequently, which is nice.  I play guitar and drums.  I love cars and music…both are little passions of mine ever since I was little.

TOD: Mixing music/DJ-ing.  I love sports, such as: soccer, squash, and lacrosse.

Okay, if you could trade places with someone famous for an entire day, who would it be?

ELI: I would love to be the epitome of Ari Gold from the show Entourage.  He is a successful businessman with so much confidence and doesn’t take anything from anyone.  I really admire that quality about him.  He’s an alpha dog!

MARCO: If I could be someone for an entire day, I would have to pick Kobe Bryant because he has been my idol for many years. I have always been a huge Laker fan and I was fortunate enough to watch a couple of live games so it would be sick to be the star that represents the Laker community.

MAX: If I could be one person for a whole entire day, I would be talent agent Ari Gold from Entourage.  I want to become a talent agent just like Ari, and one day rule the world of Hollywood. Ari Gold is someone I look up to as a person and motivator for my career.

ROB: I think it would be awesome to be Rob Dyrdek for a day.  His life seems like a lot of fun.  Any idea that pops into his head he makes a reality and I think that is very cool.

TOD: Hugh Hefner, but he’s a little too old. If not, then I’d probably have a lot of fun being Afrojack or Avicii.

My name is Alexa Mellardo and I am currently a sophomore and Broadcast Journalism major at Suffolk University, located in the heart of one of the most charming cities in the world: Boston. A passionate journalist, I am fortunate to be doing what I love to do….writing! When I’m not composing articles for two awesome online publications (hercampus.com and also collegefashionista.com) and attending classes, I intern at a trendy magazine in the city. In between, I love to shop and spend time with my friends and my boyfriend. I have two addictions: shopping and cupcakes. In light of that, what better place to be than just blocks away from Newbury Street, Charles Street and Quincy Market? My quaint, vintage brownstone apartment in Beacon Hill is where my two best friends and I keep it strictly classy and fashionable. We turned our apartment into a comfy fashionable haven, and we enjoy relaxing and entertaining our friends. Living in such an awesome city provides a wealth of opportunity, fun, and culture to embrace. My dream is to one day be a respected, well-known broadcast journalist.
