On September 23, iExperia will be taking over the House of Blues. The event is for people who are eighteen and above, but what exactly is iExperia?Â
Â
A basic definition for iExperia is a rave with a twist. Yes, there is going to be a lot of people dancing to chart topper EDM songs, but attendees will also be able to watch LED robots, contortionists, and cirque-style stage performers. Tickets range from $20 to $50, depending if you want to be in a standing area or wanting a specific package. Regardless of the ticket, each package includes the DJ and cirque stage performances but also foam LED sticks as well as a red carpet photo booth.
Â
iExperia is especially geared towards college students. Some universities have an iExperia event at their campus, for only current students to attend. Each event is different depending on the venue and budget of the sponsors. Â
Â
The mission of iExperia is “To engage students nationwide in a multidimensional concert experience, showcasing music, performance art, and the latest in concert technology.”
Another twist you won’t find girls in crop tops and guys in muscle tees. At iExperia everyone is expected to dress nicely. There are even some dress restrictions. Girls aren’t allowed to wear ripped jeans or denim, flip flops or any rave attire. Guys are not allowed to wear athletic wear, tanks, shorts, hats, ripped jeans, flip flops or rave attire. So what should everyone be wearing? A lot of the girls I am going to the rave with are wearing dresses and skirt sets with heels, and for the guys they are wearing khakis and button down shirts. Â
Â
Personally, this is going to be my first rave and it should be an interesting experience. Hopefully I can say it just as fun or even more fun than the photos make it seem!
