This semester, I was lucky enough to be added to the executive board of the B+ Foundation here on campus. This foundation was created in memory of Andrew McDonough, who was diagnosed and passed away from childhood cancer. Andrew’s blood type was B+, so his family decided what better way to remember him and spread positivity throughout other families lives who have been impacted by childhood cancer than starting this foundation.
Every school day, 46 kids are diagnosed with some form of childhood cancer, and that is why Susquehanna decided to become part of this amazing mission. Through fundraising and our biggest event of the year, THON, we plan on raising money to give back to the families who need it most.
Students at Susquehanna have seen the difference the B+ Foundation has been able to make in people’s lives, and I personally wanted to hop on the train. This foundation is the largest provider of financial assistance to families of children with cancer in the United States. With that being said, every donation counts, and makes a difference in someone’s life.
Throughout the semester, members of our organization will be posting fundraising promotions on our social media pages, and if you are willing and able, I do hope that you’ll donate! You all are the reason that these children have a fighting chance, and we are here to make that change happen! The B+ Foundation has been recognized multiple times for their outstanding work and if you want to learn more or donate to Susquehanna B+ Foundation group, the links will be posted below.
Do your part to make a change and don’t forget to Be Positive!Â
