- Laundry. Being in my parents’ care for over 19 years, I learned how to pick the right detergent, cycle for my everyday clothes.
- Life doesn’t go the way you wanted to go. Change is good, embrace it.
- Love thy neighbour. It takes too much time and energy to hate people.
- Never apologise to anyone for putting your health before your education. Your mental health is important and, yes, college is hard, if you need a break to breathe take it. You will thank yourself later on in life.
- Strive to be the best version of yourself. Tomorrow is a new day, don’t dwell on the past.Â
- It’s okay to CRY. A cry a couple of times a year is fine. I call it washing away the stress of yesterday and starting afresh.
- NEVER compare yourself to others. Go on your own journey; don’t follow someone else’s journey
- Laugh Hard and Laugh Often.Â
- Be strong. Don’t let others take your kindness.
- Journaling is very important. Sometimes it’s hard to express your feelings to somebody, writing them down helps.
- Have fun. You only live once (YOLO).
- Trust your gut. It’s never wrong.
- Don’t let your mistakes or regrets take you down. Learn from them.
- It’s better to try and fail than to have never tried at all
- There is always more to see and more to learn.
- Friends come and go. As you get older, your friendships will come and go, some will stick and others will leave.
- Put your needs before others. You are not selfish for saying no.
- Speak up. No one has the right to disrespect you.
- Time alone is time well spent
- Every day as you wake up, be thankful for everything you’ve been given. You are blessed.
