It’s undeniable that hearing your favorite artist in concert is the best way to listen to their music. However, with ticket scalpers and tour dates being everywhere but in your city, it’s almost impossible to get to experience your number one artist live. Luckily, fans don’t have to worry about missing out on concert films available in local theaters and their homes.

The concert film is exactly what it sounds like: a professionally recorded film of an artist’s show during their current tour. With a high-production version of a sought-after concert, no matter where you sit in the theater, you’re getting a good view. You’ll also never have to worry about hearing the artist well when you’re surrounded by speakers. The concert film is the easiest way to make shows accessible to all fans. Not everyone can afford multi-hundred dollar tickets, and they shouldn’t have to if they absolutely adore the artist and want to hear them live. Thankfully, artists take note of this and make their concerts available for all their fans everywhere to see. Especially now that we have Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and Renaissance: A Film by BeyoncĂ© playing in theaters, die-hard fans don’t feel like they missed out on the shows of the year. Everyone, no matter where they are, can see a show that didn’t even come to their city or their state. It opens opportunities up to fans who thought they would never see the shows themselves and opens up doors for movie-watchers to discover an artist. Accessibility isn’t something that fans have to ask for when a concert is available to watch in theaters or even at home. There’s nothing better than feeling like you’re getting your own private show.

In all, the concert movie blends two forms of media perfectly. Music and movies can mix without becoming a sing-a-long musical. People are transported into a show as if they were screaming in the stadium themselves. The concert film shares the magic of music beyond the venue.
