A letter to my two Tumblr besties,

Tumblr Friend 1:Â Â Â
Our friendship started like most on the website, obsessing over the same band. A follow was necessary in order to stay up-to-date because your blog posts felt like you were sharing it from my soul because I related to them so much. Were you reading my mind? LOL. I remember the first time I messaged you because Nate Ruess had released his mini series based on his first solo album, and I needed someone to understand just how attractive he was, and you were that friend. Eventually, we realized how much we loved history, complained about boys, and supported each other when we shared news, like when you were admitted into your dream school. I would be lying if I said I didn’t scream when that happened because I was just SO HAPPY for you. This academic year, not only did I have a new friend, but I gained a sister for life. I was scrolling through your social media and saw your bid day and my heart jumped because now we share together the 150 year old traditions of our sorority. Even though we’re busy with our college schedules and activities, you know I’m always an ugly Snapchat away.

Tumblr Friend 2:
Tumblr is the only social media platform that makes it acceptable to cry over televisions shows and no one will judge you about it. This is why I’m so glad we became friends over our mutual love of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Every Wednesday, I have someone to talk to when I’m angry about an arc the writers have taken in an episode and understand the emotions I’m feeling. Before I knew it, you were messaging me on the daily about ideas for the show, and let me tell you, they are the best way to start my morning. I’m so happy that we’ll hopefully have Her Campus to share, if you decide to join your school’s chapter. Don’t even get me started on the fact that you and I live two hours away from each other, and we didn’t know about it! Life works in funny ways sometimes.
Thank you both for always making me smile whenever I open Tumblr. You two are the greatest online friends I could ever ask for.
