Which Films Releasing in 2024 Are You Most Excited For?

Every year, the film industry blows our minds; whether it’s films like Oppenheimer (2023) or Dune 2 (2024), movies simply just keep getting better and better. Don’t get me wrong, old movies are viewing experiences I LIVE FOR, and I just get excited to see what kind of advances they make with technology like animations or CGI.

If you aren’t aware of some upcoming movie releases, let me inform you. Trust me, this is going to make your day.

Sequels, prequels, remakes, and originals… How can you not love that? 2024 already gave us Dune 2, so let’s see what else they got.

These are not all of the films releasing this upcoming year. That would be a lot of work for me.

WHAT I AM MOST EXCITED FOR

Twisters (2024)

I remember watching the original Twister (1996) and being so scared. It is a classic that scarred me as a young child, and I forgot about it until I heard about this new one coming out. You may have to save this one for a thunderstorm.

A Quiet Place Day One(2024)

Besides the fact that Cillian Murphy was in the last film in this series, I enjoyed these movies a lot. This watch was one with the family, and it did not disappoint. Everyone was intrigued by the pure emptiness and anxiety this movie gave its viewers. We were on the edge of our seats the entire time, especially in the second one. Who wouldn’t want to know how it all began?

Spider-man Beyond the Spider-Verse (2024)

The animation is everything in these movies. After watching the first Spider-Verse with Miles Morals, I could not stop watching. This past summer, I needed to see it on opening day, so I collected all of my friends and saw their visible disappointment and shocked expressions. They didn’t know it was part one—well, neither did I, so let’s hurry it up, part two.

Nosferatu (2024)

If you are a college student and had to take world cinema, then hopefully, your professor showed you the original Nosferatu (1922), a German silent horror film about a vampire. Fun fact: Nosferatu is a Romanian archaic word that means… vampire! Directed by Robert Eggers, Nosferatu (2024) stars Lilly Rose Depp, Bill Skarsgård, and William Dafoe. I didn’t think Bill Skarsgård could get any more frightening since It (2017), but I guess we will have to see.

There are so many amazing films to debut in 2024; if you have anything to say about them, just download Letterboxd. You will be occupied for a while.
