COLLEGE STATION, Nov 26th, 2022 – Philadelphia Sisters will be hosting the annual Joy to the World Fun Run on December 3rd, 2022 at 3:30 PM. This 5K/10K is a philanthropy event benefitting Chosen Children Ministries. It will begin on campus at Texas A&M University, at the Corps of Cadets Quad.Â
Philadelphia Sisters (also known as Phillies) is a Christian Sisterhood at Texas A&M University with the mission for “God’s global glorification through specific service projects, accountability groups, and meetings.”Â
Lauren Corradino, one of the chairs of the Fun Run, stated that “it is going to be extra special since Squadron 21 has partnered with us to get the Corps of Cadets involved” and they are anticipating the event to be “bigger than ever.”
Chosen Children Ministries (CCM) is an evangelical ministry with the mission of “making Christ known and bringing life changing transformation to men, women, and children in Nicaragua.” CCM utilizes funds provided to build schools and churches, fight poverty, conduct medical clinics, and a variety of other services. The Philadelphia Sisters work with CCM not just financially, but physically as well. There are a group of members from the organization going on a short term mission trip over Christmas break to serve CCM in Nicaragua.Â
The heart of this event is to “serve others while sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ… This is the joy we are celebrating at Joy to the World 5k,” Corradino stated.
