College Station, Texas, February 3, 2024 – On February 16th, Texas A&M has the honor of hosting Commander John. B Herrington, a retired Naval Aviator and Test Pilot for NASA. During his time as an engineer for NASA, he acquired over 3,000 flight hours and gained recognition for working with over 30 types of aircrafts. In 2002, he embarked on the space shuttle Endeavour, where he conducted 3 spacewalks.
However, John B. Herrington’s passion extends outside the world of aerospace engineering. Determined to help kids find their own love for science, John took part in a cross-country bike ride where he would stop at different schools and inspire those younger than him to explore the STEM world. His biggest goal is for kids to remain curious and to keep on learning, no matter how intimidating the subject might be.
If Commander John B. Herrington’s story sparks your interest, join him on February 16th from 7pm to 8pm in Rudder Forum as he discusses life in space, overcoming challenges and connecting to the younger generation.
