My February Favorites

February is one of my favorite months of the year simply because it’s my birthday month. Because I turned a year older this past month, I splurged quite a bit on the items I bought. It’s not everyday you enter your 20’s! Or at least that’s what I told myself as I bought everything on this list.

Heated Blanket

This February in Texas has uncharacteristically been pretty hot, but I just had to include my heated blanket because it saved me during the the month of January and early February. I was worried about accidentally burning myself with it, but I’ve never had to deal with it being unbearably hot. It adds just the right amount of warmth, and it’s one of my favorite comforts before I go to bed.

black out curtains

I never realized just how much light comes in through my window until I added blackout curtains to my room. In particular, there are streetlights that brighten up my room during the night, and it never used to bother me. I thought my sleep quality was still decent. However, with the addition of my new curtains, I have never slept better, and I honestly don’t know how I was able to sleep before. I just take extra care to make sure my alarm is on for the next day.

coconut pulling oil

I was hesitant to believe the perceived benefits of coconut pulling oil after seeing all the TikToks about it. While I haven’t been doing it long enough to notice any teeth whitening, I really enjoy the freshness of my breath after using it. I use mouthwash, but I feel that the pulling oil goes that extra mile. I know some people are hesitant to try it with how long you have to swish it in your mouth, but I simply use that time to tidy up my room/prepare for the next day. I get a clean mind, room, and mouth!

spearmint tea

It honestly can be any tea flavor, but I’ve really enjoyed the taste of spearmint tea right before bed. This tea has worked for me as a way to destress after a long day. It does make my night routine longer, but it is also the perfect wind me down for bed. Over this past month, I’ve noticed that as soon as I’m done with my tea, I grow tired and am ready to sleep. This tea, with the combination of my blackout curtains, has ensured that I knock out by bedtime.

maxi skirt

I’ve never been a skirt girl simply because of the impracticality of them. I’ve always found shorts or pants easier to deal with, but I’ve been eyeing a maxi skirt for a couple of months now. Since February is so close to spring, I thought this was a perfect time to buy one. After wearing it for the first time in February, I can confidently say that I love maxi skirts. It’s such an easy way to add flair to your outfit, and I will definitely be getting more colors eventually.

Now that I’ve entered a new decade of my life, I have no regrets about anything I bought. I’ll be patiently waiting for next February when I turn 21, and I can splurge on even more items!
