Happy Black History Month from Her Campus TAMU!President Obama made history when he became the first African American president of the United States, but Michelle Obama made history too as the first Black first lady. She founded the slogan “Let’s Move,” for childhood obesity. Mrs. Obama’s energy has inspired children in schools she frequently visited where she planted gardens and promoted health.
Mrs. Obama’s elegance has shown through her fashion during her time in the White House for the past eight years. Whether it’s a slick or low pony tail, a side sweep, highlights or a volumous updo, Mrs. Obama won every time. Or like the super right wing instructor at an ettiquette dinner I attended said, “She’s the only first lady who has exposed her shoulders so much.” Fortunately, class has nothing to do with your arms being out; especially if they are as toned as Mrs. Obama’s.
