1.Cape May Lighthouse
Venture down to one of the southernmost points in NJ, and hike up 199 steps to the top of this historic lighthouse. It offers views of the vast Atlantic, as well as Cape May Point State Park and Wildwood.
2. Mount Tammany
Believe it or not, there are mountains in NJ! This steep hike is worth the journey to see the beauty of the Delaware water gap and its surrounding areas.
3. Devil’s tea table
Be prepared for a tough hike to see this hidden gem of a view. Once you make it to the rocks, or the “tea table,” you’ll be able to look out onto the Delaware river and see Pennsylvania across.
4. High Point Monument
Head up the Appalachian trail to reach the highest point in the entire state. There, you can go inside the monumental obelisk and see views of NJ, PA, and NY.
5. Apple Pie Hill
Deep in the Wharton State forest is a lesser known spot for great views. Climb up the fire tower that sits upon the hill to see a picturesque panorama of NJ’s Pine Barrens.
6. Paterson Falls
Take a trip to see the second largest waterfall in North America! There, you can overlook the glistening water as it cascades down the falls.
7. Blueberry Hill
This hiking trail is a lesser known spot that’s worth venturing to. A high point on the trail lets you see the Philadelphia skyline. Blueberry Hill’s main attraction is the view of “the pit” which could be compared to a mini Grand Canyon. If you have extra time, the pit is worth exploring
