Amanda Toolan: Girl Power on TCNJ’s Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCNJ chapter.

Amanda Toolan is a sophomore communications major, with a focus on public and mass communication, here at The College of New Jersey. Knowledgeable on communication skills and social norms, she has taught me and many others the benefits of communications and voicing your opinion for others to know exactly how you’re feeling. Speaking up and telling people your emotions can sometimes be difficult, but Toolan taught me how it is essential to grow and mature as an individual.

Amanda is also a sister of Alpha Xi Delta, and the secretary for Her Campus TCNJ. Amanda is a very focused and motivated individual who has taught me a lot about responsibility and being present on TCNJ’s campus. Amanda strives every day to be involved on campus and make an impact on the greater community.

Her theme song is “September” by Earth, Wind, and Fire, and she is big fan and advocate for disco music. She is also an expert on fashion and beauty, as she exhibits in many of her articles here on Her Campus.

Overall, Amanda inspires many students on TCNJ’s campus, particularly girls, that their voice matters and they can be as involved and present in the community as they want to be.

Senior, Early Childhood/Special Education and English Major.
Kyra Mackesy graduated The College of New Jersey with a BA in Journalism and Professional Writing and a minor in Criminology in 2019.
