This week’s profile is on Emily McClain, a sophomore from Moorestown, New Jersey. McClain is a Public Health major with a minor in Communications. On campus, Emily is a member of the sorority Zeta Tau Alpha. Since joining, she’s had a positive experience and said that joining a sorority has “made my TCNJ experience a good one. I’ve already made friendships that I know will last a lifetime.”
Last summer, McClain studied abroad for 5 weeks in Madrid, Spain as part of the college’s study abroad program. She enjoyed learning about Spanish culture and improving her speaking skills in the European environment. “Spain was one of the coolest experiences I’ve had in my life. It was fascinating to see how people live in other countries and I really hope to go back one day.”
In her free time, McClain enjoys hanging out with friends, playing with her boyfriend’s dog, and painting. Emily is a talented artist who loves to draw and paint whenever she finds a spare moment. She has a small business on Etsy, a website where users can buy and sell handmade products, where she sells some of her own artwork.
Even though McClain has two more years at TCNJ, it hasn’t stopped her from thinking about future plans and aspirations. McClain hopes to have a job that involves helping people find better ways to obtain proper healthcare.
