Gaga for Gaga’s New Song, “Judas”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCNJ chapter.

I’ve been waiting for the newest batch of catchy songs to come off the press and have been pleasantly surprised. Not so much with the large amount of songs, but rather with one song that has stolen my attention.

“Judas,” Lady Gaga’s most recent song, has one of the catchiest beats I’ve heard all week!

Though this doesn’t necessarily mean her song will be at the top of the charts, it does mean there is a high possibility this song will reach a top spot on my iPod playlist, bumping down songs like “Bad Romance.”

As it has become apparent in previous reviews, I am a sucker for a hip-thrusting beat! However, if you try to read into the lyrics too much, you might wonder if it’s even alright to dance to the confusing song. I’m not going to lie — it does feel a little strange singing to lyrics with religious undertones, but if I remember who they are being sung by, that feeling seems to fade. I suggest letting words flow with the rhythm of the songs.

I would have rather Gaga have chosen a different name, but in a way I am sort of relieved it was not “Alejandro” again. The reason why: Well, I have a cousin named Alejandro and every time the song came on it made me laugh and feel awkward.

Here’s hoping this infectious song reaches Collegiettes everywhereiand everyone takes it as what it is… Entertainment.
