As college students nearing the end of the semester, most of us rely on coffee to get through the day. Whether you’re a coffee addict- when the employees at Dunkin know your voice when you pull up to the drive thru, that’s when you’ve made it- or just looking for quick caffeine boosts during finals week, these tip and tricks of the trade will prove to be lifesaving.
1. Download the Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts App
If you do not already have these apps saved on your home screen, you’re doing it wrong. The more times you use the app, the more perks you get! Gold stars, free coffees, discounted baked goods; the list goes on and on. Hook up your debit card to your account for easy access when it’s time to reload money.
2. Coffee Iced Cubes
If you don’t mind drinking iced coffee in the heart of winter, then you my friend are an iced coffee addict. Brew yourself some coffee and pour the coffee into an ice cube tray. Stick the tray in the freezer and ta-da! Coffee iced cubes. Stick them in your iced coffee so that your drink stays cool, but never gets watered down.
3. Order and Pay Ahead
The Starbucks app has this feature and it is life changing. First, order and pay ahead on your phone. Then, go to your local store, skip the line, and pick up your premade drink. Perfect for mornings when you are running late to that 8 am but will not sacrifice your coffee run.
4. Mixing Flavors
Did you know you can mix the flavors available at your favorite coffee spot?! If you’re a caramel lover, get your caramel drink and add a mocha pump. Viola! You get a caramel and chocolate swirl. Like chocolate covered fruit? Coconut and mocha or blueberry and mocha are to die for.
5. Ask for Less Ice
Once again iced coffee lovers, this is for you. Ask for less ice. Less ice = more coffee. And more coffee = happiness!
6. Sundae Syrups
Know the chocolate syrup or caramel syrup in the squeeze jar that are right next to the ice cream in the grocery store? Bet you never thought to put that in your Keurig coffee at home. Perfect for days when you cannot muster the energy to leave the house. It’s like having a gourmet drink in the comfort of your own home.
