3. Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society has coordinated this huge event all around the nation to raise money to battle cancer. Usually taking place at a high school or college, this event is set up at a track where the participants make a team and walk the track for about 12 hours. Of course you don’t have to walk the whole time! There is plenty of food, music, and other activities you’ll enjoy, as well as tents to take naps in when your legs start to get tired. This event also includes showing plenty of local cancer patients, survivors, and caretakers that they have their community to lean on, through a candle lighting ceremony and other wonderful displays of support.
