He’s talented, funny and has recently been crowned Mr. 2016! Say hello to Sam Waxenbaum. Sam is studying Political Science and is involved in many campus organizations, from ACT to College Democrats. This hard-to-embarrass sophomore loves meeting new people and would someday like to travel to every single continent around the world. Now that he is Mr. 2016, he’s basically TCNJ royalty!
Name: Sam Waxenbaum
Age: 20
School year: Sophomore
Hometown: Mahwah, New Jersey
Major: Political Science
Hobbies: I love hiking in the woods. Music and art are also passions of mine and I’m kind of a sucker for theater.
Campus Organizations: Alpha Epsilon Pi, ACT, TMT and College Democrats.
Dream Job: President of the United States.
Post-graduate Plans: Law School and hopefully starting a career in NYC.
Three words to describe yourself: I’d like to think of myself as someone who is smart, funny and charming.
Relationship Status: Single
Ideal First Date: If I’m on one in the first place, I already think I’m doing pretty well. But I think a first date should be something simple, but nice. It should give you time to talk and learn a little about each other. A nice dinner and maybe something afterwards depending on what’s going on.
Biggest Turn-Ons: Someone who is intelligent, has a good sense of humor, is independent and confidence is incredibly appealing to me.
Hidden Talents: I like to think that I am a really good singer.
#1 Thing on your bucket list: Visit every continent before I die.
Favorite part about TCNJ: You get to meet a lot of people from all different walks of life. The person standing behind you in line at Quiv could be just like you, or have experienced the world in a way you never thought was possible. Things like that are really cool to me.
Most embarrassing moment at TCNJ: I’m in theater, where it isn’t uncommon to need to come out on stage in everything from an Elvis jumpsuit to your birthday suit. After growing up in that atmosphere, I don’t really find many moments to be embarrassing anymore.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be: Flight. For one, you never have to deal with traffic again, but I just think it would be really cool to just be able to soar around for a little bit and forget about all the things stressing you out.
Pet Peeve: It’s weird, but I really don’t like when someone takes an audible breath before every sentence, or like clicks their tongue when they are about to say something.
One thing you can’t live without: Pizza.
