TCNJ Senior Year Bucket List

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCNJ chapter.

For some of us collegiettes, January kick-started our “beginning of the end,” more commonly known as our senior semester. Although this might sound daunting and anxiety-laden, it doesn’t have to be. Whether you’ve been here for four or more full years or you’ve transferred at some point in your scholastic career, TCNJ has become your safe haven where many of your friendships and connections have sprouted. This is your last chance to take advantage of everything the campus has to offer before graduation, so here a list of things you should consider doing to round-out your senior year activities.

1.       Join a new club you don’t know anything about, such asBrazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Club or Ultimate Frisbee.

2.       Say “Yes” to everything for one day (within reason, of course) and see where it takes you.

3.       Apologize to someone who deserves it. You don’t want to leave TCNJ with regrets or bad feelings.

4.       Wear something bold and crazy to class just because you love it. Ignore any stares you might get because you’re being you.

5.       Try everything on Fat Shack’s menu, then reserve a treadmill at the gym.

6.       Fine-tune your resume and join LinkedIn.

7.       Buy something completely random at the bookstore just because it has the TCNJ logo on it.

8.       Tell your favorite professor, face to face, how much they meant to you and how much they’ve influenced your TCNJ experience.

9.       Have a YOLO night where things get weird. The stories will be unforgettable.

10.   Buy a drink for a total stranger at the Rat.

11.   Strive for straight As, then reward yourself with something special when you do.

12.   Take pictures with people who made a difference in your college life and scrapbook your own yearbook.

13.   Write something for The Signal. You don’t have to be a journalism major to have your ideas heard and read by others.

14.   Go swimming in the campus pool.

15.   Treat yourself to a nice meal, off campus. Route 1 is so close that the restaurant possibilities are endless.

16.   Attend the Career Fair on February 22 (9-2 pm) to explore post-graduation opportunities. Dress the part and bring a polished resume!

17.   Take a class because you’re interested in it, not because it fulfillsyour PAWS academic requirements.

18.   Walk “The Loop” on a beautiful day and take pictures of your favorite places on campus.

19.   Swim in the fountain, preferably in the spring.

20.   Use the rest of your points to buy yourself all of your favorite foods that will perk you up during what could be your last finals week, ever.

What’s on your senior bucket list?

Hilarey Wojtowicz is a senior Journalism/Professional Writing major at The College of New Jersey. Hilarey works for TCNJ's Residential Education and Housing Department as a Community Advisor, but is truly aspiring to be the next Carrie Bradshaw. Not only does Hilarey love writing for her campus's chapter of Her Campus, but she enjoys writing about sports for local newspapers, as well. A true Jersey girl at heart, Hilarey is definitely not from the Boston area, but is a huge fan of the New England Patriots. You can find her interning in New York City this Fall at Woman's Day Magazine.
