I hate to admit it, but I rarely go to the dining halls here on campus anymore. After three straight months of eating nothing but a burrito bowl and an occasional sandwich and coffee from KFC, I think I could go my entire life without eating those meals ever again. I am very lucky that even though I live in a dorm, my boyfriend has a full-sized kitchen I can use anytime – I mean I’m sure he’s not complaining about a home-cooked meal at least once a day either, but you could even whip up a home-cooked meal once in a while in the shared kitchen in the dorms.

Recently, I started up cooking, and not just instant ramen or macaroni and cheese from a box, but making actual meals from scratch. I am such a homebody and I see cooking and food as a way to gather around the table and have a good ass conversation with your family and friends. I’m not saying I’m a Michelin star chef (fun fact: I had a baking “company” when I was 12, I would say I made a good amount of cash from it), but I can whip up some quality meals thanks to these food bloggers I’m about to list for you. They are all self-taught too, so if they can do it, you most definitely can too!

1. Moribyan Kitchen – moribyankitchen.com

I recently found Moribyan on Tik Tok and I am telling you, this woman has THE best fusion recipes. She also has a variety of recipes ranging from appetizers, desserts, lunch, dinner, literally anything you can think of. Her recipes are incredibly flexible when it comes to spice level, so if you want to turn up the heat or go for a dish that won’t burn your taste buds off, she’s the girl for you.  It also helps that you can find her recipes on almost every single social media app and her website. She goes into such detail with her recipes that it is pretty hard to mess up a dish, no matter how hard you think it might be. Moribyan also makes a lot of copycat recipes, so if you’re craving a meal from a restaurant you love, chances are she’s made a recipe for it (just like Nando’s remake, so so so good).

2. TiffyCooks – tiffycooks.com

If you are craving some authentic and I mean authentic Asian food, you have come to the right place. Tiffy was born in Taiwan – one of the best hubs for street food in the world. The best thing about Tiffy is that most of her dishes you can make in under 20 minutes. She has a series called “15-minute dinner” if you’re looking to whip up something delicious quickly, but she even has recipes for street food you could make at home. I don’t know how she does it, but she posts a new recipe every single day for the “21 Days of X” series and you cannot go wrong with any of them. She has made so many recipes ranging from beef, pork, vegetarian, seafood, soups, and stews that it is so hard to not find a recipe that you will love.

3. Pinch of Yum – pinchofyum.com

Now if you’re looking for something a bit more on the health-conscious side of if you don’t have much time during the day to make a meal – no shame at all, I get it, most of us are burnt out and exhausted trying to figure out our lives – Lindsay has the recipes for you. Her recipes range from vegan to meal prep meals to instant pot meals and they are also packing with flavor.

I recently started back up with my fitness journey so it’s nice to have a meal-prepped dish you can just pop in the oven without having to worry too much about it. You can find various recipes on her page from different cuisines and you can never go wrong.
