It’s that time of year again…and by that I most definitely mean it’s time to sip your Pumpkin Spice Latte with satisfaction. The leaves are changing, and it’s finally not in the 100’s every week. As the weather changes, so do fashion and beauty trends. No longer are we rocking that bright pink lipstick, bold highlight, or dewy summer foundation. I notice myself slowly veering away from my light colored clothing and slipping on the boots and cozy sweaters. Black cable-knit sweaters have never looked so good. One of the most evident changes in season also is with nail colors. Very rarely do you see a girl with hot pink nails mid-October…but I mean go for it girl. It’s all about the neutrals, browns, and reds.
For fall makeup I always stick to a matte foundation. I like to add the typical contour. My favorite bronzer is currently Hoola Bronzer by Benefit Cosmetics. It’s a nice warm bronzer that seems to work with most skin tones. During the fall I like to tone down my highlight a little bit. In my opinion, highlighter is used to mimic sunshine on your face. During the fall there isn’t as much of this natural sunshine, so having beaming cheek bones may be a bit much. My absolute favorite part of fall makeup is adding in different lipsticks. During fall you’ll notice a lot of girls tend to stick with nudes. However, if you’re feeling a little ballsy, whip on that dark brown. Pair it with a gold gloss in the middle of your lips. I promise you, if you walk into Nordstrom you’ll be stopped by an artist from any makeup counter and they’ll compliment you on your color choice. GUARANTEED.
Changing up eyeshadows is SO fun during the fall. Brown shadows and golden tones pretty much work with every skin tone, from super pale (me) to Beyonce. I normally stick with a golden base and work a taupe/brown into the crease of my eye. Feeling crazy? Throw in some orangey tones. I have a Morphe palette that has the most gorgeous burnt orange and it truly makes my blue eyes pop. This palette is on Amazon and is very affordable—it is called Morphe 35W. Morphe 35T is also an amazing buy, it is just more taupe tones and works best with a warmer skin tone! However, I would recommend only using this burnt orange color under your lower lash line, or lightly in the crease…you don’t want to match a pumpkin patch.
Now go grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte and enjoy your day!
