I don’t know about y’all, but my favorite holiday has got to be Thanksgiving. My extended family always celebrates together, and southern cooking is unbeatable. I began working on a playlist last year that brings out the groovy autumn warmth that Thanksgiving always sows in my soul. Hey, everybody has a favorite Christmas playlist, so why not give Thanksgiving its due?

Whether you’re basting your turkey and preheating your oven, or finally sitting down to that warm, autumn table surrounded by family and friends, this playlist of fall vibes will surely set a grateful mood.

Songs you may not know by artists you do:

Keep Driving – Harry Styles

I Drink Wine – Adele

See The Light – Stephen Sanchez

Some unfamiliar tunes to keep an eye on:

Who Am I But Someone – Kate Bollinger

A more recent find for me is Kate Bollinger, who dazzles listeners with her simplicity. A weeping guitar catches your ear before the bridge takes a trippy, watery spin and leaves listeners just a little twirly.

Trick To Happy – Bahamas

Choppy guitars lead the song, creating a rhythm so funky you’ll have to take a break from any kitchen-knife-related activities to give this tune a proper dance. Melody split into octaves in the chorus are sure to make anyone sing along.

Lovesong (The Way) – Charlie Burg feat. Bluets

Charlie Burg reminisces on the 1950s with the delicate accompaniment of his own breaking heart. His lovesick chords and antique vocals are modernized with his lyrics, despite the “lovefool” story told all too often.

Oldies about which you should think twice before overlooking:

Lovely Day – Bill Withers

You Send Me – Sam Cooke

For Once In My Life – Stevie Wonder
