So you meet a guy… whether it’s in person, on a dating app, in class, or whatever the case may be, and you think to yourself WOW this guys a total gem: time to impress. Next thing you know the conversation is flowing, and you hear him say that magic word: DATE. At this point you’re probably screaming YASSS in your head, but casually playing it cool as you say “yeah of course!” to this dime piece. Now your date is in a week, and you have seven full days to decide what outfit you’re going to wear, how you’re going to do your makeup, and anything else you’re unnecessarily stressing about for an hour date with a rando guy you barely know. But, we all know how this goes down. It’s the night before (or the night of if you’re a true procrastinating champ) and you’re seriously stressing out about what you’re going to do. Yeah, we’ve heard all the excuses… you didn’t have time ALL week, you were SO busy, you GOT distracted, but the truth is you’re just avoiding it. So calm down girl and sip on a glass of sangria. Here’s tips to guide you on what to wear on a fall date:
Think to yourself: Where are you going?
Casual, dressy, outdoors? All three date scenarios are very different. For a casual date I would stick to a comfortable dress/romper, throw on a sweater and boots and roll with it.
For a dressy date, I would throw on a fancier dress and heels and strut the HELL out of it. Or dressing up jeans with heels and a leather jacket is super fun and trendy.
Outdoors dates are perfect for jeans and a comfy t-shirt. I would also recommend wearing boots or maybe if you want to look straight out of Tumblr, throw a little Adidas Superstar action in there.
(Keep in mind fall colors like caramels, nudes, dark greens, and black are all amaze to incorporate in any outfit you choose.)
Regardless of your outfit, you must pair the right makeup and accessories for this date if you want to look BOMB AF.
If your date is outdoors or casual I’d stick with natural eye makeup, maybe some nudes and golds, light eyeliner, and lots of mascara. Have fun with your lipstick. Fun pinks are my favorite for dates… your lips automatically look more kissable, just sayin’. However, with a more formal date, whip out that red lipstick and own it. Nothing is sexier than a red lip in dim restaurant lighting.
Now, accessories. I always say LESS IS MORE. Do NOT be the girl wearing a chunky bracelet, necklace, and dangly earrings. “Just don’t do it? Okay?” (voice of Coach Carr from Mean Girls). Choose which accessory you want to be more prominent and WERK IT.
With all this being said… I hope these tips help you look HOT AF on your date. Now go slay and get your man. XO
