There’s nothing quite like listening to a song you haven’t heard in a while. It not only takes you back to a different stage in your life, it also floods your mind with the memories you have associated with that song.
I love listening to the top hits as much as the next music lover, but I also appreciate listening to throwback music to switch things up.
If you want to make a bomb throwback playlist (and you should) here are just a few songs that I think should make the cut!
1. Shake It – Metro Station
Ever since the Cyrus family appeared on Carpool Karaoke singing this song, I’ve had it on repeat. If you and your friends want to make a bomb throwback playlist to listen to at your pregame, make sure this song is on there. It’s perfect to dance to before a night out, or even during a fun night in.
2. Teenage Dream – Katy Perry
Katy Perry released BOP after BOP back in the day, and “Teenage Dream” is just one of her many hits that would be a perfect addition to your throwback playlist. This song will have everyone singing at the top of their lungs as soon as the refrain hits.
3. Disturbia – Rihanna
Rihanna has been killing it on the charts since the early 2000’s, but this song in particular would be perfect to add to your playlist. It has always been one of my personal favorites from Rihanna, and it would definitely be a fun song to add.
4. Gives You Hell – All American Rejects
Don’t lie to yourself. You felt like a savage when you sang this song when it was released in 2008. The confrontational lyrics and catchy beat will definitely get everyone in the room hyped up when they hear it.
5. The Motto – Drake ft. Lil Wayne
“Oh my God Becky look at her butt. Tunechi!” Everyone was singing those iconic lyrics to each other back in 2011. To be completely honest, I forgot how good of a song this is, so adding it to your playlist will get everyone in the room reciting the lyrics the second it plays on the speaker.
6. The Way I Are – Timbland ft. Keri Hilson
It’s crazy to think that this song came out in 2007 (11 years ago!!), because every time I listen to it, I fall more and more in love with it. Add this song to your throwback playlist if you want to give your friends all the feels.
7. Everytime We Touch – Cascada
Every time I hear this song, my non-existent inner dancer comes out, proving that it’s the ultimate track to get people dancing.
8. Best Love Song – T-Pain ft. Chris Brown
T-Pain knows how to make a hit, and this song is no exception. If it’s not already on your playlist, add it now.
9. DONTTRUSTME – 3OH!3
It’s been 10 years since this song was released, but it’s still a hit today. Play this at your next pregame for sure.
10. So Good – B.o.B
This song always puts me in a good mood and it’s the best song to listen to during any (and every) event.
There are so many amazing throwbacks that you should add to your playlist, but I wanted to make sure that you didn’t forget about these gems!
