Gregory and Janine of Abbott Elementary have peaked the interest of their audience since season 1. With many instances of affection with a spic of causal flirting, there is no doubt that a romance is brewing! Read here as we go over the best scenes of the show!
One of the first thoughts that came into my mind while watching the most recent episodes of Abbott Elementary was “So, is it Granine? Or Janory? ” Yes, I was thinking of ship names for Janine and Gregory.
Ever since Season One there has been this undeniable chemistry between the two characters. In the very first episode, there have been multiple instances that give off the impression of a future romance. With that being said, it’s time to dive into the best scenes that showcase Janine and Gregory’s chemistry!
Now let’s go back to the first day they met in Episode One, the chemistry was already there, especially since it was displayed in a comedic manner. They met in the school bathroom, which was quite an embarrassing first impression for Gregory, (especially since the reverse toilets got him) but that did not stop their bond from brewing. Despite having very different personalities, they complement each other very well throughout the show.
They help each other out quite often, as being a teacher can be challenging, especially for Gregory’s experience being new a teacher. However, they also help each other with personal matters.
For instance, in Episode Six of Season One, where gifted education was highlighted there was definitely a little bit of vulnerability in Greg as he seemed to open up about himself for a change. It was a very sweet moment and they truly showed how much they already cared about each other.
Over time we saw little instances that displayed their budding relationship. In Episode Nine, Greg emphasized the fact that he doesn’t like pizza or anything of that sort but as soon as Janine mentioned grabbing pizza for lunch, he was all ears for it.
At the beginning of Season Two, Gregory was the only one that noticed Janine’s hair was parted a different way. It is truly the little things that make them have such a spark. For this reason, it is so captivating to watch them.
Although it’s a very slow burn, I think the Second Season will allow Janine and Gregory to become more affectionate with each other and possibly start dating. Slow burns can be frustrating as they leave you on the edge of your seat, but it will all be worth it in the end.
It is so satisfying once we have our one true pairing together and thriving. Until then, let’s swoon over the romantic moments that writer, Qunita Brunson, gives us!
