As Baltimore-native Nina Getachew struts down 13th street, it’s hard to not notice her bright mint green Uggs, signature head scarf and gold bangles. Whether she’s walking to class in her moccasin booties or rocking her studded leather Jeffrey Campbell Lita boots for her job at Urban Outfitters, this Temple senior is nothing short of unique. Her style exudes creativity and originality. Simply stated, she has swag. Not only is she a fashionista, but she is also a budding designer in her free time.

What are you wearing?A vintage Mickey crew, floral tights from Urban Outfitters, UGGS, and Fulani gold toned earrings from luxorcouture.com
Inspiration:Color
Style Icons:My Aunt Lyndia, Erykah Badu and my Grandmother
Trends you love: Turbans and freedom
Describe your style:Whatever comes together from the multiple patterns in my closet before I walk out of the door. I love color and all black. I love anything with a pattern on it. I love platform shoes (they hyper-feminize ankles). I love tights and high-waist anything, basically whatever accentuates the positive.
Where do you shop? Urban Outfitters, thrift stores, Nordstrom, Retrospect, ethnic shops, any street vendor I see, and I also make stuff.
Are you interested in a fashion job in the future?I may do corporate for Urban Outfitters, but I do not want a fashion “job.” I am actually in the process of starting my own company involving the fashion life. It’ll be an online store. I’m excited!
