One thing I have learned about experiencing anxiety is that it can be difficult to cope. Oftentimes, my first instinct is to panic when faced with challenges, but I have realized the developing positive coping mechanisms is the best way to handle anxiety. In this article, I will share six of my favorite anti-anxiety apps that help me relax when feeling anxious.

Headspace: Breathe in, breathe out. Just like its name, this app helps you get into the right headspace to keep moving forward. It provides guided meditations and helps users practice mindfulness in times of stress. It also has features to aid sleep and movement through exercise.

Clear Fear: If you mainly struggle with anxiety, this cute and colorful app could help. It provides information to explain different types of anxiety and how to deal with them. An important feature of this app is the personal safety net. If you are experiencing a serious mental health episode, it helps you create a list of emergency contacts and coping mechanisms so you can recover and get the assistance you need.

Splashy: If you need a good distraction, this game is an oddly relaxing option. The goal is to see how far you can bounce a ball through a series of obstacles. It is great for when you need to shift your focus from something that is causing stress.

Noisli: Create a custom sound mix to play when you need to focus or calm down. From mountain breezes to coffee shop chatter this app imitates real-world noises to help you create natural background noise.

Calm: Yes, this is the app where Harry Styles reads to you and yes, that is why I downloaded it. This app provides guided meditations, sleep stories, daily check-ins, and calming music. Additionally, the app has a lot of nice pictures and has an aesthetically-pleasing layout, making it fun to scroll through.

Aloe Bud: Welcome to your pocket-sized self care companion. This app helps you reflect and keep track of personal care activities. It reminds you to breathe, drink water, and find simple ways to stay motivated throughout the day.

In conclusion, we all deserve to know how to proactively ease anxiety and stress. By exploring positive coping strategies, we can continue to face everyday challenges and overcome anxiety and stress.
