Today, just a little past 11:00 BST, the Royal Family announced the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s newest bundle of joy: a baby girl.
Born at St. Mary’s Hospital in west London—where her brother, Prince George, was born—the Princess of Cambridge arrived at 8:34 BST, weighing in at 8lbs, 3oz to parents William and Kate. Prince William promptly brought newly anointed big brother, Prince George, to visit his new little sister at the hospital and then returned to Kensington Palace, where Kate and the newest little princess will join them on Saturday.
It is reported by BBC News that the Duchess of Cambridge arrived to St. Mary’s Hospital at 6:00 BST, where she was admitted to the Lindo Wing. Eager to arrive, the world’s favorite royals were able to finally meet their princess shortly after.
The Princess of Cambridge will be fourth in line for the throne of England and will be the Queen of England’s fifth great-grandchild.
A statement from Kensington Palace reported by BBC News said, “The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
The birth announcement will be outside of Kensington Palace until 11:00 BST on May 3rd.
While the world watches and waits for a name for the newest baby Princess of Cambridge, it is so exciting to see the couple expand their family.
Earlier this week, Prince William and Prince Harry both sent out official letters to the victims of the earthquakes in Nepal and earlier this year, Duchess of Cambridge has been delving into many philanthropic efforts—just like her late mother-in-law.
Without a doubt, it is clear to see that this new arrival is in great hands! Stay updated on all of the newest #RoyalBaby2015 news here!
