Rainy Day Affirmations to Get You Out Of Bed: Quarantine Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

It seems that the one thing that comes easily under quarantine is falling into depressive habits. If you’ve found yourself in bed until 1 p.m., or taking several naps a day, use these affirmations to break the habit and reclaim your productivity.

  1. I will not internalize external chaos.

  2. My heart cannot be weighed down by fear. I am in control of the persistence of my spirit.

  3. I have time today to make whatever progress I can.

  4. I will rest when it is time to rest and work when it is time to work.

  5. My emotional, physical and mental health are my top priorities during this time of global distress.

  6. I will employ my talents today to be proud of myself tomorrow.

  7. I am capable of working hard and showing myself compassion. I will meet myself on the level that I can handle. I will challenge myself to grow and do more when I am ready.

  8. I am not stuck. I can find opportunities to strengthen my talents in any circumstances.

  9. I have the strength and health to get out of bed and seize the day.

  10. I will not wait for the future. I am present and taking advantage of each moment.

This is a difficult time for everyone and it is only natural for such an abrupt lifestyle change to feel uncomfortable, and even upsetting. Social media, the news and pretty much all other platforms are flooded with nonstop information about the Coronavirus.  It is impossible not to hear about the rising death rate in America and in other countries, or the devastation the epidemic is causing in everyone’s lives. When you wake up, before you check the news or an app, read the affirmations. Give yourself a fighting chance to stay motivated during these dark times. The key to being the light in other people’s lives is to start by being the light in your own!
