Like every other teenage girl living in 2020, I have an unhealthy obsession with binging Netflix movies. Over the summer, my best friend and I made it our mission to watch every single Netflix original movie based around a high school love story. It seems pretty specific, but you’d be surprised how many movies fall under this category. While watching although, we noticed a trend: Noah Centineo. This gorgeous man played the love interest in 80% of the movies we watched, so clearly, I am an expert. Here is a definitive ranking of every movie starring Noah Centineo on Netflix.

“To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before”

Unsurprisingly, TATBILB is the best movie of the group. It’s relatable, it has likable characters, and makes me cry every time. Not only is it my favorite of the films on this list, but it’s highly ranked in my favorite movies of all time. The concept is the most original of the ones on this list and is perfect for any girls night in.

“To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You”

While it is inferior to the original, TATBILB 2 is fun and the visuals are gorgeous. I personally think it’s hard for any sequel to live up to the original movie, especially considering how great the first one was. The ending however, was extremely disappointing. John Ambrose was there for Lara Jean every time Peter screwed up (which was a lot), and it seemed like even the director wanted John and Lara Jean to end up together.

“Sierra Burgess is a Loser”

I had a really hard time rooting for this couple. Sierra knowingly catfished Jamey with the help of a “mean girl” whose character development moved way too quickly. The soundtrack and incredible cast almost makes up for the weird plot line, which is why this movie isn’t further down on the list.

“SPF-18”

While there’s nothing particularly awful about this movie, there’s nothing particularly great about it either. The characters don’t have any development or goals, and the basic plot is pretty fuzzy, similarly to Noah Centineo’s Twitter. There are a lot of “fake deep” moments throughout this film, and I wouldn’t recommend even hate-watching this one as it offers almost no entertainment value.

“Swiped”

Kalani Hilliker is 100% the only part of this movie that brought me joy (I have so much love for her and all her projects). Anyways, this movie was terrible. It normalizes hookup culture and is terribly misogynistic, which is dangerous because the audience is mostly young teens who think Noah Centineo is pretty. None of the characters are likable, in fact, I wanted to kick them all in the shins.

“The Perfect Date”

There is not a single good thing about this movie. Brooks gets a little bit of success from the app and decides he’s untouchable. Brooks is also a compulsive liar and gets away with it; there is absolutely no character development. However, it is very fun to hate-watch.

Overall, I don’t regret this venture. While most of the movies aren’t great, there’s no denying that Noah Centineo is a great actor (and is very nice to look at). All of the films also offer some sort of entertainment value, even if it’s for the worst reasons. I highly recommend doing a remote Centineo marathon with your friends, just grab some cozy blankets, some good snacks, and set up a Netflix Party group to virtually binge watch these terribly good films.
