We’ve all been there. It’s the end of March, and you find yourself suddenly racing to catch up with assignments, emails and internship follow-ups. Between sunny afternoons on Beury Beach and late-night cramming sessions at the Tech Center, it’s easy to get lost and forget about yourself in the chaos. If you’re in need of a recharge, try some of these tips to power through the end of the semester.

Revamp Your Morning Routine

If you’re have trouble getting out the door in the morning, try reworking your routine. By doing what you can the night before, like picking out an outfit, meal prepping and setting up your coffee machine. You will have more time in the morning to wake up and unwind before your classes start. Plus, you have more time to enjoy being outside in the sun, rather than running to your 8 a.m.

In addition, you should make a list of your most important tasks to complete each day: assignments, projects, meetings and big deadlines for the week. Then, commit yourself to doing only as much as you reasonably can in one day. There is only so much time in one day — don’t feel bad for not being able to do everything all at once.

Establish A Comfortable Workout Routine

There is nothing more gratifying than an early-morning workout. Whatever form it comes in – cycling, yoga, 45 minutes at the gym or just a jog around the block — working out helps keep me energized, happy and productive throughout the day. However, not everyone is comfortable with the same routine, and so it’s important to figure out what level of activity is best for you.

If you’re interested in group fitness classes, check out the IBC or find affordable classes in your neighborhood. If you’d rather stay solo, spread out in your bedroom or dorm and do some guided yoga. Staying active keeps your brain alert, and can even help lift your spirits if you’re in a post-spring break funk.

Make time to just be

When you’re constantly on your grind, it’s hard to make time for yourself. Schedule out blocks of time (even in between classes) to do something for yourself, no matter how small. Make a game plan for the week so that you have a Friday night for yourself and your girls every once in a while.

Basically, remember that you shouldn’t have to sacrifice self-care and friendships in order to succeed academically or in your workspace. Find time to have an old-school sleepover with your friends — complete with gossip, laughs and personality quizzes. Sometimes, in the mess of it all, that’s all you need.

Spring semester is coming to a close, and it’s undoubtedly going to get crazy. In the midst of final projects, exam schedules and internship applications, remember to be yourself, and remember that imperfection is not the end of the world. You’ll make it through.
