This place is all about the experience, making it the ideal celebration location. Make an A on that big midterm? Score a great internship? King Tut’s Egyptian Grill is the place to cheers to that. But, be prepared: King Tut’s is BYOB, so make sure to stock up before you arrive! So under the radar they don’t even have a website for you to check out, this hidden jewel is festive and fun, and houses some of the most authentic Middle Eastern food around. Order a platter to share with friends and get a taste of all King Tut’s has to offer.
When Family Comes to Town – Pete’s Restaurant and Coffee Shop
No matter how picky of an eater your little sister or dad may be, Pete’s has an all-American menu that any family member would love. Pete’s is classic downtown burger joint that’s been family owned and operated for a quarter of a century. But make sure you go for breakfast or lunch – plate lunches are the daily special, and breakfast is served until noon, but Pete’s closes around 2 p.m. on most days. Don’t forget to get a hand-dipped milkshake or a piece of chocolate pie for a true slice of Americana.
