This Wednesday I drove down to Dallas with my best friends to go to the SWEAT Tour. For those of you who do not know, the SWEAT tour is a combined tour with English pop singer Charli XCX and Australian pop singer Troye Sivan. I initially bought tickets to SWEAT because “brat.” was my favorite album of the summer. During the summer, all I could think about was dancing in the crowd as Charli performed “Von Dutch” live. As the concert approached, I started listening to Troye’s music and fell in love. Both artists are paving a way for a new generation of pop singers. Not only do they create amazing music, but their music emulates an indescribable feeling. And their concert radiates the most energetic, bold, and fun vibe.Â
The SWEAT setlist is evenly divided between the two singers, with Charli performing three songs followed by Troye performing three. I think the way they split the songs was an amazing method to perform their music alone while keeping the crowd engaged. Charli and Troye’s performances were very different. Troye had many backup dancers and his performance involved a lot of energetic, erotic dancing. Charli’s performance was solo. She performed on stage alone, letting the lightshow add to the visual part of the show. My favorite part of the concert was at the end when they both came out to perform “Talk, talk” a song on “brat.” in which Troye is featured. Their chemistry onstage is undeniable. Charli and Troye seem like genuine friends who enjoy touring and performing together. Their upbeat and loving energy towards each other is contagious.Â
Overall, I absolutely loved going to this concert. If given the opportunity to go to another SWEAT concert, I would definitely go. If you are thinking about going to a SWEAT concert soon, one piece of advice I would give is: spend the extra money on the pit tickets. I have never seen a pit so alive and jumping as the one at the SWEAT tour. I am considering going again just to be able to experience the concert from the pit. I am still in awe of the amazing performance that Troye and Charli put on, and I cannot wait to see what they do together next!
