- “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas”
-
Why save the best for last when it deserves to be mentioned first? This is probably one of the BEST Community episodes of all time. Dan Harmon put his entire harmussy into this masterpiece and I fear I will never find a better Christmas episode. In summation, Abed, played by Danny Pudi, has a mental breakdown because his mom abandons him for a new family so he finds comfort in imagining that his life is like a claymation. It is visually pleasing, insanely funny, and has a great message. I really think that every Christmas episode after this one was set up for failure. It truly is the best.
- “intro to knots”

I have to be really honest, this one is only ranked 2nd because of Danny Pudi. He is everything to me and Abed is just *chef’s kiss* in this episode. He’s obsessed with Die Hard and it’s a running joke throughout the episode. Like I mentioned previously, after “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas” nothing is ever going to compare but if you want to have a little laugh, or admire Danny Pudi in all his comedic glory, this is definitely the one I would turn to next.
- “regional holiday music”

This episode is just a big spoof of Glee. You’ve seen one, you’ve seen the other. This is of course done with that Community humor that you love so you’ll definitely enjoy this more than staring at a creepy Will Schuester for 45 minutes. It has a lot of songs that the cast absolutely ATE up but it’s nothing to write home about. There is a rap with Abed, Dani Pudi, and Troy, Donald Glover, that will be stuck in my head ALL season long. It’s also a good episode if you like a plot twist that is never brought up again at the end. :D
- “Comparative religion”
-
Last and CERTAINLY least, would have to go to this episode. I didn’t care for it because Shirley, Yvette Nicole Brown, is insanely religious and very dismissive of anyone who doesn’t believe in everything she believes in. She just isn’t my favorite character but even if you take her out, it’s just not a great episode. If you learn anything from this list, ignore this episode and watch any of the other three.
So what did we learn? That Danny Pudi absolutely CARRIED Community on his back and it makes sense that the best Christmas episode is entirely focused on his character. Please, If you’re reading this and have like 30 minutes, go watch “Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas.” You will not regret it.
