All these people were talking about this crazy weekend. The talk started very early on in the year. Something about music, neon tank-tops and a massive amount of students crammed into the backyard of a fraternity. “Round up,” is what they said it’s called. R-o-u-n-d-u-p. The words were endlessly repeated without a clear explanation of what they meant.

We all returned from Spring Break and it seemed as though all eyes were locked on the nearing event. Still very unsure of what it meant, clothes and accessories were purchased to wear throughout the weekend. Facebook events began to pop up here and there to show off what musical guests would be in attendance. A schedule started to form. Pleas for donations circulated.Â
Still, nobody could answer the question of what round up exactly was. Then we find out we have to get wristbands for the weekend, security is heightened and rules are put in place. There is no hope in trying to explain to friends or family what this weekend is meant to be. It’s hard to explain something that has no definition.
And now? Now we are one week away and there is still no answer. Round up is said to be the BEST weekend at UT. It is known throughout the country. Videos and pictures of past round up weekends dance around the internet. Here are the best attempts at explaining UT’s round up weekend the only way we can truly understand:
