Miley Cyrus, the twerking queen of our generation, seems to be everywhere – on TV, the radio, the hottest magazines and now she’s finding her way into a college classroom. No, not as a student, but as the main subject.
A university in New York has announced a new summer course on the sociology of Miley Cyrus, exploring race, class, gender and the media through Miley Cyrus’ life; dating all the way back to when she was still Hannah Montana.The course will also be touching the surface of other Disney has-beens, such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Sorry Longhorn Smilers, there is no such course here in our sociology department, but with registration coming up, make sure to check out all of the interesting courses we do offer. There has been cool classes like “Rhetoric of Harry Potter”, “History of Rock Music”, and “Black Studies and Social Media”!
