5 activities to do in Toronto this Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Toronto MU chapter.

The fall season has officially made its return to Toronto. Leaves are starting to crunch, and it’s finally sweater weather! Whether you prefer outdoor walks wrapped in your favourite scarf, finding a new coffee shop to channel your inner Rory Gilmore or thrive off of spooky Halloween events, this fall activity list is for you.

Little Ghosts Bookstore and Cafe

Little Ghosts Bookstore and Cafe is the perfect mix of cozy and spooky fall vibes. Located at 930 Dundas St. W. in downtown Toronto, this bookstore attracts horror junkies with its thrilling genre selection.

Enjoy one of their signature spooky drinks — such as the “Swamp Creature” (four shots of espresso on vanilla-steamed milk) — on a cozy back patio complete with baskets of blankets. There’s no excuse to escape your 10 daily pages in this fall paradise for book, coffee, and horror lovers!

High Park: One of Toronto’s Prettiest Parks

You don’t have to buy new hiking boots or travel far out of the city to find fall foliage and breathe crisp, fresh air.

High Park, located at 1873 Bloor St. W., is one of Toronto’s biggest parks and is the perfect place for a fall stroll. If your goal is to crunch every auburn leaf on the ground, you’ll want to check out the labyrinth of trails lined with golden yellow, deep orange, and bright red trees.

Legends of Horror at Casa Loma

Located at 1 Austin Terrace in midtown Toronto, this one is for horror enthusiasts.

Get your heart pumping on the grounds of Casa Loma’s Legends of Horror, an immersive theatrical experience on a two-kilometre trail that winds its way through the castle’s tunnels. But be careful! You don’t know what could be lurking around a dark corner… Luckily, if it’s cold enough, you can pretend that’s the reason for your goosebumps.

Distillery District Ghost Tours

The Distillery District, right in the heart of Toronto, is famous for its Victorian industrial architecture and cobbled streets. But something is creeping around this fall.

As you venture into one of Toronto’s most haunted spots, explore alleyways and hidden corners with the Spirits of the Distillery District Ghost Tour. This is the perfect event for those hoping to get into the fall spirit, history enthusiasts, or a spooky date night around Halloween. Check it out at 55 Mill St., the perfect place to go ghost hunting this year.

Halloween Haunt

The rollercoasters won’t be all that’s making you scream this fall at Canada’s Wonderland.

The park transforms into a Halloween attraction filled with mazes, night rides, scare zones and hundreds of monsters, ghouls and witches — scary enough to rattle your skeleton. So grab a friend (or two), and be ready for a night of terror; prepare to scream your lungs out and put yourself right in the Halloween spirit. Get your tickets here.

While you navigate school, work and the craziness of life this fall, incorporate a little seasonal celebration into your routine. Fall is the perfect time to bring out your favourite knit sweater, eat a warm pie and create a sense of comfort and warmth before winter.
