Super Easy Thanksgiving Appetizer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Toronto MU chapter.

If you’re like me and don’t cook much, it can be difficult to contribute to the family Thanks giving dinner. Which is why you (we) usually get delegated to the appetizer. It’s smaller and less important. Regardless you still want your folks to enjoy it! At least I know I do.

My go to for the past few years has been just that (easy and enjoyable): Pillsbury Jalapeno Cream Cheese Poppers!

As it happens it consists of only THREE ingredients.

  1. One (8 oz.) can of Pillsbury crescent rolls
  2. Small Jalapeno Chiles
  3. 1 container (8 oz.) of garden vegetable cream cheese spread (or if you’re looking for a vegan alternative: ‘Yoso’ Cream Cheese or ‘Daiya’ Cream Cheese

Steps:

1. Heat oven to 375°F. Separate dough into 8 triangles. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 2 narrow triangles

2. Cut jalapeño chiles in half lengthwise; remove seeds. Spoon cream cheese mixture into chile halves.

3. Place 1 stuffed chile half on shortest side of each triangle. Roll up, starting at shortest side of triangle and rolling to opposite point; place point side down on ungreased cookie sheet.

4. Bake 14 to 18 minutes or until crescents are deep golden brown

Cool and serve!

Happy Thanksgiving!
