I interviewed my roommate, Lauren, who was in the middle of getting her schedule organized for the upcoming week. She is a sophomore, double majoring in both Psychology and Sociology-Anthropology with a concentration in Criminal Justice. To take a break, I asked her a series of random light-hearted questions that let us escape from the stress that is finals.
What did you want to be when you were a kid?
“Astronaut, Pilot (because I want to be able to fly a plane), Queen, Police officer. So basically, I’ve always wanted to rule over people, anything powerful.”
What’s your favorite type of chocolate?
“I don’t discriminate, I like all chocolate. Dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate–I love ‘em all.”
Binder or notebook?
“Notebook, I hate binders. I always used to get my finger caught in them when I was a kid. I hate those things.”
Do you prefer tea or coffee?
“That’s difficult, I drink as much tea as I do coffee, and I enjoy the taste of both of them. If I’m using it to wake up, I think ice cold water works better than both coffee or tea. I love mugs, I freakin’ love mugs! You can put both in a mug so that’s a plus.”
Favorite social network?
“Twitter, freaking love twitter, oh my gosh. It is so much fun — the memes, the gifs, the content, the videos, it is always so great! Every time you log onto twitter you always find something that is going to make you laugh. If you don’t love twitter, you’re doing something wrong.”
What’s your favorite article of clothing?
“I can’t decide between cardigans, sweatshirts and sweatpants. I’m trying to think about what I would grab if I was running out of a fire, but in reality, I’d probably already be wearing the sweatpants and sweatshirt, so I would only have to grab the cardigan.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
“I wrote an entire essay on this,” she says as she proceeds to search for said essay. “Basically, I want to help those who can’t help themselves, but in 10 years I would hope to see myself out of school and using at least one of my degrees.”
Do you have a favorite holiday? Why?
“Christmas! I love Christmas, I freakin’ love Christmas. I love the season in general. I love the lights, the weather, the drinks (Starbucks, of course), the food, the movies, and I love how people treat each other.”
What are your four favorite romantic comedies?
“13 Going on 30, 10 Things I Hate About You, Something Borrowed and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”
What are your three favorite TV shows?
“Grey’s Anatomy, Sex in the City and Criminal Minds.”
If you could meet any celebrity, dead or alive, what celebrity would it be?
“I would want to meet Tracee Ellis Ross, because I love her.”
iPhone or Android?
“iPhone, that’s not even a question.”
