This fall Shondaland has returned with Scandal and the brand new show How to Get Away with Murder. Now that they’re both on their mid-season break, we wanted to fill everyone in on the beginning of the shows (we hope we don’t spoil too much!) so that you can catch up while you have the time!
Kerry Washington is the starring lady, Olivia Pope, on Scandal. She is the indisputably the best fixer on the political scene. Viola Davis commands her new role as a law professor, Annalise Keating, while the underlying mystery is steadily unraveling. Thursdays are especially exciting for the loyal residents of Shondaland.
Olivia Pope returned from her excursion to a remote island with Jake. They were standing in the sun! May the swirl be with you Miss Pope. She made a quick transistion from summer beach waves to the everyday side part with bangs.
Quinn brought this vacation to a halt when Olivia got the news that Harrison died. It was only natural that Olivia would return to DC for the funeral of her most devoted brother gladiator.
Now Olivia is back in the most elegant dress coats that winter fashion has to offer. The chic is definitely back in for Miss Pope along with booty calls from Jake and warm dinners with Daddy.
The usual scandals have occured but this fourth episode of season four definitely brought the scandal. The president’s daughter was in a sex tape. This episode you simply had to google “Eiffel Tower”. Mellie was oblivious to this because Olivia already “fixed” it. In an effort to salvage her last grains of motherhood she confronted Fitz about why she wasn’t informed.
Fitz goes on a tirade, “I have put up with Drunk Mellie, Bad Hygiene Mellie — no wait, I got it — Smelly Mellie…” Fitz said.
Mellie has been in house booties and a terry cloth robes since the commencement of Season four. She is mourning the death of her son.
Mellie hasn’t had a sassy quip this season until this moment,“A sex tape,” Mellie smugly said back. “I guess she takes after her Daddy.”
This single line set Twitter ablaze because Mellie might get her fire back.
Shonda Rhimes, the creator, added How to get away with Murder to the Thursday Night Shondaland lineup on ABC. This new show has captivated the emotions of the audience with tumultuous plot twist, non-linear storytelling, captivating intellectual stimuli, pleasurably explicit scenes and an intriguingly exceptional cast.
This show has a great diversity. More than one story is occuring all at once. Topics of infedility, same-sex relations, interracial relationships, career struggles, women in power, academic status, socio-economic class and murder are all prevalent and revelant in this show.
Rarely do you see a black women remove her wig and makeup on drama TV.
These law students will jump over any limit, line or boundary in order to impress their law professor. Each case tests their mental strength, conscious morality and intellectual judgement.
The cast contains eye candy for any viewer. You wonder about the relationships between each of them. Are Wes and Rebecca together? Does Annalise want Wes too? Why are Connor and Wes so beautiful?
So much mystery. So many questions. So much has be said in there four episodes and so much has to actually happen. Catch up while you can!
